Job Description

Hey there! Our awesome client in Austin, Texas is on the lookout for a talented Staff Accountant to join their team on a Direct Hire basis.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Handling day-to-day accounting tasks, focusing on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Creating client statements and invoices using data from Bills of Lading and Waybills
  • Sending out invoices to clients and making sure they pay on time
  • Accurately managing vendor invoices and costs
  • Keeping a close eye on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable using QuickBooks Online
  • Preparing journal entries and conducting monthly bank reconciliations
  • Producing financial reports like Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements
  • Sharing monthly financial summaries and insights with the management team
  • Taking over the entire accounting function gradually
  • Developing and implementing efficient accounting processes and internal controls
  • Evaluating and suggesting new accounting tools for better accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborating with the CFO, providing strategic financial advice to support decision-making

Your Background:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, with a focus on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, invoicing, and financial reporting
  • Advanced skills in pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis, and cleaning
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, invoicing, journal entries, and financial reports
  • Must be proficient in English for vendor communication
  • Bonus points for Spanish language skills
  • Proactive, self-directed, and can work with minimal supervision
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment
  • Keen eye for detail and always looking to improve processes
  • Willing to engage in after-hours communication as needed
  • Looking for long-term growth and ready to take on more responsibilities over time
