Job Description
Senior Project Accountant
Our client on the west side of Dallas, Texas metro is hiring a Senior Project Accountant due to doubling in size over the last year. This Accountant must have construction industry accounting, enjoy working for a smaller organization, and be open to an in-office position. This is a direct hire opportunity.Â
Senior Project Accountant Role:
Lead the monthly customer billing cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
Communicate with customers regarding payment documentation and resolve invoicing issues promptly.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue balances as needed.
Process subcontractor payments accurately and on schedule.
Collect, track, and maintain required compliance documentation.
Participate in the job close-out process to ensure accurate final reporting.
Assist with internal and external audits; ensure adherence to GAAP and internal controls.
Identify and implement process improvements within the accounting function.
Contribute to ERP system enhancements, with a focus on efficiency and automation.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Produce monthly financial reports and perform account analyses.
Review account and bank reconciliations.
Assist in developing and implementing financial controls and procedures.
Senior Project Accountant Background Profile:
Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of project accounting experience in the construction industry.
Strong background in project invoicing, billing, and job cost accounting.
Proficiency in percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and WIP reporting.
Proven ability to collaborate with project managers, leadership, and external partners.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively.
Process improvement mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Experience with CMiC preferred.
