Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will oversee legal and compliance functions, corporate governance, risk management, and provide strategic guidance to executive leadership. This full-time position requires on-site presence at our Southeast Houston, Texas location.

Your Responsibilities:
- Legal Strategy & Leadership: Direct comprehensive legal operations covering commercial agreements, corporate governance, securities compliance, regulatory matters, and more.
- Transaction Management & Contract Leadership: Lead negotiations and documentation of intricate business agreements, including partnerships, licensing, and M&A activities.
- Regulatory Compliance & Public Company Obligations: Ensure adherence to federal securities regulations, exchange requirements, and international commerce laws.
- Dispute Resolution & Legal Risk Management: Manage legal disputes and litigation, collaborating with external legal counsel when needed.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Global Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide integrated legal support and maintain consistent legal standards globally.
- External Legal Resources Management: Engage and oversee external legal counsel for specialized expertise and cost-effective legal services.
Background Profile:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- 13-15+ years of legal experience, including both law firm and in-house corporate roles.
- 7+ years in similar positions within publicly traded companies.
- Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar, Texas bar membership highly preferred.
- Expertise in corporate, commercial, and regulatory law, with a preference for energy or manufacturing sector background.
- Proven track record in managing public company obligations, SEC compliance, and international transactions.
- Strong negotiation skills, business acumen, and ability to handle complex initiatives autonomously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a hands-on, proactive approach to legal leadership.
