Human Resources Associate
Our client located in Washington D.C. needs an Human Resources Associate. This position is an immediate need and a contract to possible hire opportunity. The client might consider a direct hire opportunity.

Human Resources Associate Role:
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for assigned positions with minimal supervision, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates.
Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, skills, and competencies needed for open positions.
Draft and update job descriptions in collaboration with HR leadership.
Oversee and coordinate background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
Conduct new hire orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
Support and execute employee recognition programs.
Remain knowledgeable about DC Paid Family Leave, FMLA, and other Leave of Absence (LOA) regulations; assist employees with related processes.
Manage employee-facing communication platforms, including digital boards.
Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; escalate complex or sensitive matters to the HR Director as needed.
Stay current with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend policy and practice updates to ensure compliance.
Provide guidance and documentation to employees on policies and guidelines.
Track HR metrics, prepare reports, and recommend process improvements.
Maintain awareness of HR best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies to enhance HR operations.
Champion the mission by fostering a culture that encourages engagement.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Human Resources Associate Background Profile:
Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
Minimum of 1 year of recruitment and/or HR generalist experience.
Strong alignment with the mission and values of a Christian organization
Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
PHR or other HR certification preferred.
Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS); ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems.
Strong professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Demonstrated ability to remain composed and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Energetic, positive, and team-oriented disposition.
