Senior Accountant Role:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing all aspects of the companyâs accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting
Verify invoices, issue payments, enter data, respond to vendor inquiries, prepare reports, and perform other related tasks as needed
Prepare and issue invoices, make deposits, enter data, generate reports, and handle other related duties as assigned
Complete bank reconciliations, review the general ledger, post adjusting entries, maintain balance sheet schedules, generate financial statements, and handle other close-related activities
Summarize and transfer financial data into actual/forecast income statements, analyze variances, explain results to stakeholders, and adjust forecasts as required
Prepare requested documents and data, and respond to auditor inquiries.
Handle Accounting Administrative Tasks â Prepare documentation for corporate and other taxes, issue required tax forms to agencies, generate reports, maintain records, and file documents appropriately
Report on closing progress, seek guidance on job-related issues, and escalate irregularities or problems to management for resolution
Analyze current accounting procedures, identify issues, recommend improvements, and assist with the coordination, documentation, and implementation of updated systems and processes
Follow all policies, rules, and procedures, cooperate with administrative requests, and adhere to established company guidelines
Take initiative on tasks aligned with organizational goals, perform assignments from management, and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues
Senior Accountant Background Profile:
Bachelorâs degree in Accounting
Minimum of 7â10 years of relevant accounting experience
Proven experience preparing financial statements
Solid understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Ability to clearly explain financial statements to departments outside of Finance and Accounting
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws related to accounting, finance, and taxation
Working knowledge of ERP system operations; Dynamics NAV experience highly preferred
Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel â advanced level required, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
Must adhere to company policies and maintain a high standard of discipline
Demonstrates a strong commitment to completing tasks accurately and on time, proactively coordinating with other departments as needed
Ability to maintain positive and professional working relationships across the organization
