Join our rapidly growing client as an experienced Enrolled Agent or Senior Tax Advisor in Northville, Michigan. Enrolled Agent Role
As the primary relationship manager for an assigned portfolio of clients, you will serve as a strategic advisor while overseeing accounting, tax, and client advisory engagements.
Responsibilities include:
Manage the complete client lifecycle for an assigned portfolio of small business clients.
Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting, tax, and advisory services.
Lead proactive tax planning engagements and identify opportunities to optimize tax outcomes.
Prepare and review complex business tax returns, including Forms 1120, 1120-S, 1065, and 990.
Prepare and review individual tax returns (Form 1040).
Conduct detailed monthly financial statement reviews and provide meaningful analysis to clients.
Review balance sheets, reconciliations, fixed assets, payroll liabilities, and loan schedules.
Analyze profit and loss statements to identify trends, opportunities, and potential concerns.
Deliver year-round financial guidance, including compensation planning and tax strategies for business owners.
Recommend entity structure improvements and tax-saving strategies.
Mentor and support bookkeeping and accounting team members while ensuring high-quality client service.
Ensure accounting deliverables and tax filings are completed accurately and on schedule.
Collaborate with leadership to improve internal processes and enhance the client experience.
Resolve complex accounting and tax questions with professionalism and expertise.
Enrolled Agent Background Profile
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
4–7+ years experience required.
Strong experience with monthly accounting and financial statement review.
Proven expertise preparing and reviewing business tax returns (1120, 1120-S, 1065, and 990).
Experience preparing and reviewing individual tax returns (1040).
Deep understanding of tax planning strategies and entity structure optimization.
Knowledge of depreciation methods, Section 179, bonus depreciation, and other tax-saving opportunities.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience mentoring accounting or bookkeeping team members preferred.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and growth-focused environment.
