Food Service Manager
Our client in Aspen, CO, has an immediate opening for a Food Service Department Supervisor on a direct-hire basis.

Food Service Manager:
The Food Service Manager will coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees. Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
Through understanding of their department, participate in meetings as well as take initiative to lead by example to ensure their department is maintained, monitored, and order inventory.
Create and maintain open lines of communication with the team and keep the department manager updated on issues or concerns.
Minimizes lost sales by working with department managers to monitor inventory or to cover shortages.
Minimize loss and ensure safe shopping and working conditions.
Create, order, and maintain shelf tags and labeling materials to ensure they are correctly placed for sales programs.
Adhere to store standards and monitor for departmental compliance.
Build displays to meet department standards.
Improve operations and efficiencies by controlling labor costs and by reducing losses due to shrinkage.
Understand load schedules and efficiently utilize scheduled staff to accommodate the schedule.
Comply with departmental procedures for receiving merchandise, including inspecting the product when delivered, pricing the product, and restocking cases to ensure freshness and quality, accuracy, and product rotation.
Provide excellent customer experience as well as monitor and teach customer service standards to all departmental personnel.
Observes and reports areas in the department where improvement in customer service is required, then implements approved changes and procedures to address these needs.
Utilize food safety production logs, order guides, temp check logs, and date labels properly and according to established schedules.
Observes and reports deficiencies in food safety and equipment operation, and assists in ensuring safe operations and compliance with company and OSHA requirements.
Receive inbound shipments and keep backroom inventory organized, including ensuring receiving doors are locked and secured when not being used.
Assists with the department staff training needs and effectively recommends rewards and recognition to incentivize performance.
Encourages and coaches team members and provides continual on-the-job training.
Food Service Manager Background Profile:
High school Diploma or GED and three or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
At least 1+ years of experience working in a food service department.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule and actively participate in scheduled inventories.
Ability to keep merchandise clean and fresh to meet all health department regulations, pass sanitation inspections, and meet company standards.
Must adhere to food safety and general safe practices to make sure the department staff are following proper processes and guidelines, continually checking for compliance, and coach employees when actions or behaviors are unsafe.
Food Safety Management certification required.
