Job Description

Payroll Human Resources Assistant

Our client, based in Buford, Georgia, is seeking a Payroll Human Resources Assistant for an hourly direct hire position.

Responsibilities of the Payroll HR Assistant

  • Oversee manual payroll processing for 160+ employees and in-house subcontractors (60-70% of workload)
  • Manage employee relations, claims management, onboarding, and offboarding tasks (30-40% of workload)
  • Conduct monthly employee orientation sessions to ensure a positive and informative experience
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and files
  • Act as a responsive and approachable resource for employee inquiries and issues
  • Assist with occasional document translations using Google Translate
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the HR department
  • Complete other HR-related duties as assigned

Qualifications for the Payroll HR Assistant Role

  • Prior experience in payroll processing, preferably manual payroll
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with employees
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Capacity to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; quick learner of HR/payroll systems
  • Preferred background in HR support functions such as onboarding and employee relations
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
