Our client in Baltimore, MD, is currently seeking a dedicated Human Resources Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Position: Human Resources Manager

We are looking for an experienced Retail Human Resources Manager to lead HR functions for a workforce of over 250 employees across various retail locations in the Baltimore region. The ideal candidate will be proactive, people-centric, and committed to shaping organizational culture, engagement, and compliance in a dynamic retail setting.

  • Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Collaborate with store and corporate leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives and ensure consistent employee experiences.
  • Implement policies and practices that foster a positive work environment, enhance retention, and drive productivity.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Ensure HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Oversee payroll and benefits administration in partnership with corporate HR and external vendors.
  • Analyze workforce data to facilitate decision-making and reporting.
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives to improve employee skills and engagement.

Background Profile of Human Resources Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in retail or multi-site settings.
  • Thorough understanding of employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.).
  • Demonstrated skill in managing complex employee relations issues with professionalism and equity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and payroll software.
  • Preferred certification: PHR or SHRM-CP.
