Legal Assistant Aide (Entry-Level–Junior) | Corporate Law Firm | Houston, TX (In-Office, Direct Hire)
Overview
Join a multi-location corporate legal firm in Houston as a Legal Assistant Aide, where you’ll play a critical support role for attorneys and legal assistants across multiple practice groups. This is an in-office, direct-hire opportunity for someone with foundational law firm experience who’s ready to build a long-term career in a structured, professional legal environment. You’ll help keep matters moving through precise document handling, deadline support, and day-to-day operational coordination—work that directly impacts the quality and pace of legal service delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Support attorneys with state and federal e-filings, including formatting and filing pleadings
- Assist with discovery management, docketing/deadlines, and deposition/trial preparation
- Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal assistants
- Scan, file, and maintain electronic and physical client records
- Assist with document preparation, formatting, and internal processing requests
- Provide back-up support across practice groups as needed
- Handle copying, binding, document organization, scheduling, and other administrative tasks
- Support office-wide initiatives and team projects
Required Skills
- 1–2 years of prior law firm experience (e.g., legal receptionist, file clerk, legal aide)
- Experience from a corporate, transactional, business, or other white-collar legal practice environment
- Professional services experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Reliable, team-oriented, professional demeanor
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience in a mid-size or large law firm
- Familiarity with document management systems
Preferred Education and Experience
- 1–2 years of relevant law firm experience in a corporate/white-collar practice setting
Other Requirements
- In-office role in Houston, TX
- Candidates with backgrounds primarily in personal injury, immigration, or other high-volume plaintiff practices will not be considered
